Land Rover Reliability

You won't find Land Rover reliability information like this anywhere else. Actual repair frequencies, not just vague dots. So you can tell how much the Land Rover truly differs from competing car models in reliability.

These stats are promptly updated four times a year, to much more closely track Land Rover reliability as the cars age. Others tell you how reliable the Land Rover was a year ago, when the cars were a year younger and had 12,000 fewer miles on them. Only TrueDelta tells you how reliable the Land Rover has been recently.

2007 4dr SUV turbocharged 190hp 2.7L V6 Diesel

Land Rover Reliability and Durability: Cons
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2008 4dr SUV turbocharged 160hp 2.2L I4 Diesel
6-speed manual AWD
The manual trasnmission'sdual mass flywheel and clutch are not robust enough for an SUV. I had a replacment of both at 35,000 miles and OK thereafter but I sense da returning rumble whcih is why I replaced the car. I chose manual trans becuase of the better fuel economy (by at least 5 MPG) and the auto box is not withoutadverse durability reports see full Land Rover review
2006 4dr SUV 300-horsepower 4.4L V8
6-speed shiftable automatic AWD w/low range
Constantly in the shop. Electrical issues. Towed in for repair 3 times in the last 3 weeks. see full Land Rover review
2005 4dr SUV 174-horsepower 2.5L V6
5-speed shiftable automatic AWD
My Freelander has been utterly trouble free. From my understanding, that makes it the exception. Many people report many engine and coolant problems. see full Land Rover review
2005 4dr SUV 300-horsepower 4.4L V8
6-speed shiftable automatic AWD w/low range
Overall, my car has been very reliable--particularly with respect to the major drivetrain components of the vehicle. However, items like the rear windshield wiper, the tailgate, the stereo, the horn, etc. have had numerous issues. see full Land Rover review
2005 4dr SUV 300-horsepower 4.4L V8
6-speed shiftable automatic AWD w/low range
Lots of suspension and fuel system problems. see full Land Rover review
2005 4dr SUV 300-horsepower 4.4L V8
6-speed shiftable automatic AWD w/low range
Electrical system is a joke. It's like Christmas time year round on my dashboard, with every single warning sign built into the vehicle lit up. The windows and rear gate work VERY sporadicly, often leaving me with a window down in the rain. see full Land Rover review
2004 4dr SUV 174-horsepower 2.5L V6
5-speed shiftable automatic AWD
Had the traditional types of problems ranging from faults on reaccelleration (engine cuts), water consumption (leaky cooling system) and an O2 senson cabling rupture which let it dead. It went to the dealer every 6 months the first two years. Cured now! see full Land Rover review
2003 4dr SUV 217-horsepower 4.6L V8
4-speed automatic AWD w/low range
Nearly everything. see full Land Rover review
2002 4dr SUV 174-horsepower 2.5L V6
5-speed shiftable automatic AWD
Breaks down easily. Especially little things. Heated seats, radiator...leaking, fan not working......etc. And it cost a lot of money to fix anything. see full Land Rover review
