My Lincoln became victim to the notorious Ford 4.6 V8 intake manifold leak. Although upgraded from plastic to metal in 2003, even the upgraded one can develop a leak. I changed it out myself (with the help of YouTube). Relatively simple, but time-consuming process. Replacement manifold is $169, but requires draining the coolant. An additional $30 covered new coolant, and a specialized tool for unhooking the fuel line.
