Why the 2013 Mazda CX-5?

Powertrain performance

I purchased this CX5 new in Jan 2013, I now have over 5,000 miles and have no problems. I just love the way this car drives. It replaced a volvo Cross country with 205,000 miles. Plenty of power with the 2.0 engine and 6 speed auto. currently getting 28 MPG in combined city/highway. Also, one thing a lot of car reviewers do not talk about is the maintenance issues down the road. There is no timing belt to replace on the Mazda Skyactive engines. I plan on keeping this car for a number of years and well over 100,000 miles so that is one major maintenance item I do not have to worry about.

Feature availability

I love all the features of this car. The rear backup camera and blind side monitor is great. Have not had any issues with the blue tooth or controls.

Ride smoothness

The ride is firm, but coming from a Volvo I like the firm ride and feel of the car, very solid. The handling is great with the steering system. The electric steering eliminating the power steering oil and gives a greater feel difference between slow driving speed and highway speed.

Why Not the 2013 Mazda CX-5?

Interior styling

The leather is comfortable and the A/C seems very good at cooling. One thing people should do when turning on the air is open the sunroof up to vent. The entering cold air will push out the hot rising air and cool the cabin down a lot quicker.

Conclusion

Consider test driving this car when looking at all the new crossover SUV's on the market. You will not be disappointed. Especially with the 2014 with the larger 2.5 engine. My 2.0 does what I need out of this car.
