Why the 2001 Mazda Miata MX-5?

Handling

Famously responsive - and it really is.

Reliability & durability

Among the most reliable series (certainly the first two) of mass-produced autos. Exceptionally reliable for convertibles.

Materials & workmanship

Nice job reminding of class British/Italian convertible strong points but with better management of interior features and consistently good workmanship (see excellent reliability!).

Exterior styling

Captures much of earlier small European convertibles (and one Honda! malice this second series seems exceptionally graceful and curvaceous (!).
