Why the 2003 Mazda Miata MX-5?

Handling

perfectly neutral handling, very excellent handling in corners and twisties for the beginning driving enthusiast and for the more advanced driver as well.

Reliability & durability

Very low level of reported issues amongst my Miata driving peers. The engine is rock solid, and fairly simple to do relatively elementary work on yourself.

Price or payments

The price point for a used 03 Miata are quite attractive, considering other roadsters.

Insurance cost

I was suprised to see such a low number for my insurance payments, and when I decide to switch to another car, I am confident with KBB value that I will get a decent amount in trade.

Why Not the 2003 Mazda Miata MX-5?

Cargo capacity

Besides the 4 bags of grocery sized boot, my main beef is with the lack of cabin storage space. you can either put cups in the cupholders, or store your cell phone, but if you have both, one of those things is going to rest percariously between your legs

Interior styling

the feel of the interior materials are quite cheap. Standard slightly rubbery plastic everywhere. The AC and stereo units look like they were pulled directly from an early 90s Ford taurus. Seats have decent support but are thin and hard to adjust.

Powertrain performance

No torque, flat acceleration arch. In order to make it scoot, you really have to over-rev to the redline to keep the powerband solid, but it still feels dog slow, especially going up slight inclines. Constantly having to downshift to overtake is annoying
