Fuel economy
With a manual transmission it is common to get just over 30mpg without hypermiling.
Materials & workmanship
The 3 has a very solid feel about it. While lower trim models are somewhat spartan as far as feature content, you never feel like materials and workmanship were compromised.
Brand reputation & image
Mazda lives up to its zoom tagline and is known for reliability and longevity. The 3 is the successor to the Protege5.
Price or payments
Discounts are harder to come by than other brands, particularly domestic automakers due to the popularity of the 3.
