Took Car in for Transmission Diagnostic due to stumble / rough shift in fourth 3rd/4th gear and sometimes in 2nd/3rd. Dealer had for 2 weeks and could not reproduce the problem. Mazda Totalcare warranty company claimed not enough evidence to even send tech out for test drive. I was faced about 4 hours of diagnostic tests at $130/hr or transmission tear down. Mazda seemed to think it was fine and believed it to be a throttle body cleaning issue so I opted to decline both of those options as it was a very expensive gamble and figured perhaps I was wrong, although my gut said that I was in fact right which was unfortunately confirmed on a recent vacation not long after these events.

US $80
The car started having issues with grinding as we were driving, resulting in two error lights showing up. Fluid was black, transmission could go at any time. Mechanic did quick fix...complete repair would have been $2,500.
