Reviewed: 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

2dr Hatch supercharged 189hp 1.8L I4 6-speed manual RWD

Why the 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class?

Exterior styling

Traditional MB looks with the quad headlights. Small and sporty design

Powertrain performance

Outstanding supercharged 1.8L engine provides good acceleration, and outstanding highway mileage.

Handling

With the Evolution package, the handling is sure footed, and predictable. It feels very planted on the road. Tire wear with the Michelin pilot tires is reasonable for the nature of the car.

Feature availability

THE PANORAMIC SUNROOF is an absolute must.

Why Not the 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class?

Price or payments

Initial purchase cost was substantial for the size of the vehicle. It has retained its value well however.

Materials & workmanship

Some front end work is now due at 6 yrs and 113,000 km - suspension bushings/tie rod ends. This is a common complaint in this generation of Benz. No other problems or replacements for the car. Repair cost/parts are expensive - you get what you pay for.
