I recently made a 300 mile round trip through the mountains and averaged 32 mpg with an average speed of 52 mph. Best Reason Not to Buy the Mercedes-Benz M-Class: Price or payments Its a Mercedes-Benz so one has to pay for the brand name. Its an expensive vehicle, but not out of reach. With the current gas prices, I dread going to the pump. $90 to fill up the huge tank.
