Why the 2005 Mini Hardtop?

Exterior styling

The series one new MINI to my mind is the most attractive. On subsequent "freshenings" the BMW stylists have added all sorts of bits and pieces just taking away from its original clean lines. The series 1 looks clean, cool and understated

Interior styling

The interior is like a cartoon car - huge center speedo and great looking controls. Ergonomics leave a little to be desired, but I can live with that as the car is so much fun.

Handling

Handling is superb - definitely a sports sedan leader in its class (and size). It is nimble, secure and really prompts the driver to push its limits

Quietness

Who cares about quietness in a little car like this - you can here the tires, your can hear the engine and the sound of that supercharger when pushed......oh yeah.

Reliability & durability

Less than stellar reliability...mostly little things but the costs add up. Seems to be much more challenging to work on than other cars in this segment
