What Our Members Are Saying about the Price of the the Honda Civic
| Price of the Honda Civic: Pros | ||
| Year | Body/Powertrain | Comment |
| 2008 | 4dr Sedan 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed automatic FWD | While not the bargain they once were, Honda still offers good value for the money. Maintenance costs are relatively low as well. |
| 2008 | 4dr Sedan 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed automatic FWD | honda lease rate is very good |
| 2008 | 4dr Sedan 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed automatic FWD | I got good interest rates from Honda. They also paid off the remainder of my lease on my Ford Ranger so I could trade it in 2 months early. There are also many options available on a lease. Overall it was cheaper than a similar Toyota Corolla. |
| 2008 | 2dr Coupe 197-horsepower 2.0L I4 6-speed manual FWD | It is the "fastest" car under $20k and very fun to drive for the price. You do not feel like you are driving an "economy" car. |
| 2007 | 2dr Coupe 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed automatic FWD | Not expensive for what you get. |
| 2007 | 4dr Sedan 197-horsepower 2.0L I4 6-speed manual FWD | Overall total cost of ownership was far less than other sporty models, to the tune of over $1200/year, before even considering the lower price and less depreciation. |
| 2007 | 2dr Coupe 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed manual FWD | My Civic was reasonably priced and monthly payments are easy on the budget. |
| 2006 | 4dr Sedan 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed automatic FWD | Cheap. Got it used from dealer for 16,000 w/only 3,000 miles on it. |
| 2003 | 2dr Coupe 127-horsepower 1.7L I4 5-speed manual FWD | Lots of bang for what we paid. |
| 2002 | 4dr Sedan 115-horsepower 1.7L I4 4-speed automatic FWD | This car was within my price range for monthly payments. |
| Price of the Honda Civic: Cons | ||
| Year | Body/Powertrain | Comment |
| 2010 | 4dr Sedan 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed manual FWD | A comparable Civic is about $5,000 more than the Forte. Interest rates for 5 year plans were also higher. |
| 2009 | 4dr Sedan 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed automatic FWD | good sales people but not much in the way of discounts or coming off the sticker or dealing ,at sticker they make at least 1500 per car and they dont really want to deal any off the sticker and say they will sell eventually |
| 2009 | 2dr Coupe 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed manual FWD | too expensive |
| 2008 | 4dr Sedan 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed manual FWD | You can expect to pay somewhat of a premium for the name, compared to other cars of similar features/economy. |
| 2008 | 4dr Sedan 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed automatic FWD | price of 20 k Euro a little too high |
| 2008 | 4dr Sedan 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed automatic FWD | to expensive at 20,200 Euros |
| 2008 | 4dr Sedan 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed automatic FWD | Too pricey for what you get. |
| 2007 | 4dr Sedan 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed automatic FWD | Civic is a good vehicle overall, but Honda name commands a higher price with few cutting edge features by comparison to usual (Toyota/ VW /Mazda) and not so common (Hyundai / Kia / Pontiac) rivals. |
| 2007 | 2dr Coupe 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed automatic FWD | In order to get the features that were comparable to the Elantra I had to at least get the LX model. It would have cost me close to $5,000-7,000 more to get an LX civic coupe versus the final cost of my Elantra. |
| 2007 | 2dr Coupe 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed manual FWD | It costs more, with less to offer, than the Scion tC ... unless you can haggle them down on the price. And good luck with that at a Honda dealer. |
| 2006 | 4dr Sedan 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed automatic FWD | Price was non-negotiable in 2006 it should be better in the current economy. |
| 2003 | 4dr Sedan 115-horsepower 1.7L I4 4-speed automatic FWD | Have a high resale value, so it might not be on the top of the list when buying used. |
| 2003 | 4dr Sedan 93-horsepower 1.3L I4 Hybrid 5-speed manual FWD | Do not buy a hybrid if you want to save money. It will cost you more than an LX Civic, even in the long run. |
| 2003 | 2dr Coupe 115-horsepower 1.7L I4 4-speed automatic FWD | No room for bargaining, and the car was $4000 more than the Protege. |
| 2002 | 4dr Sedan 127-horsepower 1.7L I4 5-speed manual FWD | too high |

What Our Members Are Saying about Honda Civic Materials and Workmanship
| Available Features of the Honda Civic: Pros | ||
| Year | Body/Powertrain | Comment |
| 2009 | 4dr Sedan 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed automatic FWD |
Most cars look good in the showroom. It is over time that the differences in quality are exposed nakedly and beyond dispute. Personal experience and empirical evidence demonstrate the Civic will be squeak and groan free 5 and 10 years down the line. |
| 2009 | 4dr Sedan 197-horsepower 2.0L I4 6-speed manual FWD |
Every surface mates great - inside and out. A little too much flat plastic inside (Mazdaspeed3 is so much better use of plastic). |
| 2008 | 4dr Sedan 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed manual FWD |
Fit and finish in the interior is most noticeable, although many new cars look good; panel gaps are very precise. |
| 2007 | 4dr Sedan 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed automatic FWD |
For this class of car the interior is nice, although not plush. The seats are generally firm and supportive. This car has a rigid, quality feel, and the body panels are tight. |
| 2007 | 4dr Sedan 197-horsepower 2.0L I4 6-speed manual FWD |
typical honda... |
| 2007 | 2dr Coupe 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed manual FWD |
Nothing in this car feels low rent to me. All the panels line up nicely and fit together seemlessly. The switches and nobs dont "click clack" when pressed or spun and dont rattle around in their spaces but have a nice heavy feel. The cloth is soft. |
| 2005 | 4dr Sedan 115-horsepower 1.7L I4 5-speed manual FWD |
Civics are tight and solid as the day I bought them even at 12 years and 200K mi on my 93, and 45K on the 05. Like new. |
| 2004 | 2dr Coupe 127-horsepower 1.7L I4 4-speed automatic FWD |
The car was well built and they paid attention to detail. It is almost unpleasant to drive other cars because mine is so well designed. |
| 2003 | 4dr Sedan 93-horsepower 1.3L I4 Hybrid 5-speed manual FWD |
Clean design, nice fit and finish, nothing flashy. |
| 2003 | 2dr Coupe 127-horsepower 1.7L I4 5-speed manual FWD |
Few or no flaws in materials and design. No corrective work needed. |
| 2003 | 2dr Hatch 160-horsepower 2.0L I4 5-speed manual FWD |
panels fit closely together. no sharp edges. well thought out engineering of placement of parts. |
| 2002 | 4dr Sedan 127-horsepower 1.7L I4 5-speed manual FWD |
Parts fit well, very few mechanical failures over 170,000 miles |
| 2002 | 2dr Coupe 160-horsepower 2.0L I4 5-speed manual FWD |
This car is made very nice. |

| 2009 | 2dr Coupe 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed manual FWD |
cheap plastic |
| 2008 | 2dr Coupe 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed automatic FWD |
Small items throughout the interior have fallen apart. Rear luggage hooks, handbrake cover, auxiliary input jack, and sun-visors have all failed or are in-process. Center brake-light has also failed. Paint is thin, chips easily, and has degraded quickly. 4.5 years in to ownership the atomic blue paint is in far worse condition than our 11 year old Ford Explorer. |

| 2008 | 4dr Sedan 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed automatic FWD |
no leather choice, only black color |
| 2007 | 4dr Sedan 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed automatic FWD |
Two recalls- brake light switch from too much steering grease and rear wheel bearing from torn seal from factory! |
| 2006 | 4dr Sedan 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed automatic FWD |
Ugly plastic, though very durable, looks cheap, chrome highlights that reflect sun into eyes. |
| 2006 | 2dr Coupe 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed manual FWD |
Poor materials used and car creaked and rattle every bump in the road. |
