Reviewed: 2009 Nissan 370Z

2dr Hatch 332-horsepower 3.7L V6 6-speed manual RWD

Why the 2009 Nissan 370Z?

Handling

Handles like a race car, no corner is too much.

Feature availability

For the price there is nothing better. The rev-matching is awesome, brakes fantastic.

Exterior styling

Unlike anything else on the road. I enjoy the "odd" details like the door handles and super wide rear fenders.

Interior styling

Very nice materials and layout, many amenities.

Audio & nav systems

Nice quality sound, nav screen is big and intuitive.

It feels elemental, like a 1982 Porsche 911SC I once owned. I prefer the Z for it's monicum of suspension, much better weight distribution, and nearly three times the horsepower (normally asperated).

It drives much like that old Prosche in that you are very much in contact with the road and with a very sweet, six cylindar engine. The Z engine is aluminum, four valve per cylindar, overhead valve with variable timing and lift, with computer controlled injection and ignition timing. That is substantial progress.
