2015 Nissan Altima Reliability And Durability: Pros

2014 4dr Sedan 182-horsepower 2.5L I4
CVT FWD
For 20k miles so far mailnly used as a commuter car and well, everything else too I don't see any issues other than the regular oil changes and tire rotations. Time will tell how well the CVT holds up but from Nissan's standpoint they had it for a long time and I expect it to hold up. FYI I did not do those "mandatory" maintenance checkups, mostly do it at the 30k mark. full 2014 Nissan Altima review

2015 4dr Sedan 182-horsepower 2.5L I4

Don't really feel as if this car will last another three years without major problems. The CVT feels flaky like it can go out at any minute. full 2015 Nissan Altima review
2014 4dr Sedan 270-horsepower 3.5L V6
7-speed shiftable CVT FWD
CVT has been very unreliable. I had transmission issues after about 600 miles on this new car. It was difficult to recreate so it took a few months to get a dealer to address the issue. After the transmission was replaced it still had similar shakiness under light throttle. full 2014 Nissan Altima review

To early to tell, but so far so good. full 2013 Nissan Altima review

What Our Members Are Saying about the Gas Mileage of the 2015 Nissan Altima

2015 Nissan Altima Gas Mileage: Pros

2014 4dr Sedan 182-horsepower 2.5L I4
CVT FWD
Since the weather gotten warmer, I have been averaging about 35 mph combined mpg which is excellent for a vehicle of this size with a 2.5L four cylinder. The Xtronic CVT transmission is key to obtaining good fuel economy. Once at cruising velocity, engine rpm stays below 1800 rpm at 70 mph and below 1500 rpm at 60 mph. I drive 80 hwy/ 20 city most of the time. full 2014 Nissan Altima review

80 miles total commute each day, average 30mpg with a 70% highway and 30% city roads. CVT helps make that mpg count very high for a gas engine and relatively weighted sedan. full 2014 Nissan Altima review
2013 4dr Sedan 182-horsepower 2.5L I4

If you have a 60/40 city-hwy, then you are better off with a hybrid or in this instance a fuel sipper. The car is large, nimble with the power assist and light due to the re-design. I am averaging about 30mpg and if my hwy gets more, I am expecting a 36mpg. This is very much inline with the advertisements by Nissan. full 2013 Nissan Altima review

I have had my 2013 Altima for 10 months and 12,000 miles. The gas mileage in this car is great. I drive 75% highway and get on average 37 - 38 miles a gallon. I can go 600 miles without any worry of running out of gas. full 2013 Nissan Altima review

I do most of my driving on the highway as well as long road trip in the 1st month of owning and I have never gotten mileage better that 33 mpg - my average is 26 mpg full 2013 Nissan Altima review
