Nissan seems to have a great formula for the Altima - a nice package, comfortable, tons of room and a pleasant driving experience.

The CVT is a little tough to get used to, but kind of like learning to drive a manual smoothly (well, much easier), it rewards you when you adapt to its methods. Performance is quite good even when I had a full load of adult men, a/c cranked and some luggage.
Huge back seat for a sedan (legroom) and even three abreast is not that terrible. Big guys did not complain.
Very simple controls - although figuring out how to reset the trip computer was a little confusing. No manual in the car to RTFM.
Huge trunk. Very usable space.
The car bottomed out a few times when I was driving 4 other adult guys (average and, um, above average size) - the rear shocks couldn't take it on bumps and some irregular pavement in a parking lot.
