Introduction

I read a lot of the reviews on the 2013 Altima and still bought the 2014! yeah I knew about the transmission rattle and vibration noise. They seem to be fixed! Much better sound insulation too! the 2014 is a new class of Altima!

Why the 2014 Nissan Altima?

Quietness

they improved the insulation from 2013 to 2014. I have driven rentals and loaners that were 2013 and they had the low rattle al low acceration speeds. this was fixed with a transmisison update i was told. 1300 miles so far and no issue. it sounds sooo quiet like a Mercedes! It is so quiet now!

Interior styling

LOVE the interior! I got the tan leather interior that looks much more expensive than the black leather. wife is very impressed with the looks of the interior. I have the Bose sound system and tech package. very elegant and useful! sound system is amazing! better than my home system that is no slouch!

Audio & nav systems

amazing.. bose rocks. even the base system is very strong!

Front seat support & comfort

best seats... most comfortable! I wont go back to Honda. dang.

Ride smoothness

drives like a much more expensive vehicle. people are amazed at the price. they guess its a upper 30-low 40K car.

Why Not the 2014 Nissan Altima?

Audio & nav systems

The voice changed for the nav and rouchless controls from some unknown woman to Siri. I have had issue that it sounds like siri is talking through a kazoo. very tinny. I am working with dealer. mine is not the ony one that sounds this way. others too. but some sound great. Having them switch the head unit out with one that sounds good. I will let you know how if it fixes it! Thats all I dont like!

Conclusion

Great car! again the issues with the transmission noise at low speeds seems completely fixed. I had this with some 2013 rentals so I know exactly how it sounds. this can be fixed in 2013 with a transmission reprogram.
the 2014s are rock solid. all the bugs worked out (no sun roof rattle - no transmission rattle) car drives and sounds like one much more pricy.
Love the tan leather.. much nicer than black. trust me.
Get the Bose system with the 7" nav and tech package. worth the extra money!
In general the 2013 and 2014 feel like completely different cars!
Even my coworker just bought one after riding in mine:)
