69000 mi   Timing chain and tensioner needed to be replaced. Made a loud squeal and whine with a bit of a rattle thrown in until engine warmed up. Unclear if could break and destroy engine. Common problem with 2005 Xterras. Was going to cost $1,200.

135000   I replaced the Camshaft position sensor again. After just over 1 1/2 years, it failed again.
