Introduction

This has been a great vehicle

Why the 2005 Pontiac Montana SV6?

Reliability & durability

Our family really loves this Pontiac Montana SV6. This is our third Pontiac Montana, we have also owned a 2002 and a 2003 and both were the extended models. We have had great performce from this van and we have the premium model that has the Onstar, DVD player, Cd and also wireless stereo. I drive this van daily and the gas mileage is great, this van also drivews beautifully on the highway. We just turned 161,000 miles on it and have had to do expected repairs, wheel hub assembly and we also had the front struts and rear shocks replaced as the back shocks were leaking. When routine maintenance is followed, oil change, tune up and other required maintenance, we have had no problems. Our only complaint is the cloth seats that seem to stain very easily, even with water dropplets ... We feel that they could have chosen a better material

Ride smoothness

This van has provided a very smooth ride, sure you will feel some of the potholes and bigger bumps while driving within the city but this van really has a smooth confortable ride on the highway which we are on very frequently

Materials & workmanship

Our only complaint with the materials is that they could have used better materials on the cloth seats as they stain even with water

Exterior styling

We really love the exterior styling and also the paint color - ours is medium blue

Front seat support & comfort

Front seats are very comfortable and roomy compared to the Chrysler Town and Country

Why Not the 2005 Pontiac Montana SV6?

Quietness

I have found that there is some wind noise at increased speeds, but by this van being 9 years old that is expected

Conclusion

If this make and model were still available I would buy a new one. I believe that production of this model stopped in 2008
