2009 4dr Hatch 158-horsepower 2.4L I4
5-speed shiftable automatic FWD
Extensive research made me notice the Vibe. I was pleased with my purchase, but when my car was exposed to the worst of Hurricanes Gustav & Ike--with NOT EVEN MINOR DAMAGE--I was thrilled. Even my beloved Accord was not this realiable in the 1st 6 months!
2008 4dr Hatch 126-horsepower 1.8L I4
4-speed automatic FWD
In 5 years/ 175,000KM no major issues. Two repairs included airbag sensor and replacing a noisy cabin fan. Brakes replaced at 135,000KM.

Manufactured by Toyota
2006 4dr Hatch 126-horsepower 1.8L I4

Other than external appearance, the Pontiac Vibe is a union made, made in USA Toyota Matrix, while the Toyota Matrix is a Canadian made, not yet union made [although the CAW is trying] car. Both are fantastic cars.
2005 4dr Hatch 164-horsepower 1.8L I4
6-speed manual FWD
I drive it like I stole it. 7 years, 135,000 miles and has never been touched by a mechanic. Total repair cost $65, heater box door motor.

Very few repairs other than on the third set of tires in 70,000 km.
2003 4dr Hatch 130-horsepower 1.8L I4
5-speed manual FWD
Other then normal maintenance, I have repaired nothing. Gas, oil changes, one belt, 2 batteries, 3 sets of tires, and two front brake jobs over 115k and 6 years.
2003 4dr Hatch 180-horsepower 1.8L I4
6-speed manual FWD
Very reliable,
2003 4dr Hatch 130-horsepower 1.8L I4
4-speed automatic FWD
Tyical Toyota product: low maintenance and no problems.
2003 4dr Hatch 130-horsepower 1.8L I4
4-speed automatic FWD
It is essentially a Corolla - has same engine and transmission. 5+ years and 31,000 miles with no real problems. Conti tires were replaced under warranty at 20,000 miles; Light swith on rear view mirror broke - got another on eBay cheap.

going by reputation but i once had a toyota tercel stick and i only did one clutch in 270M miles and when inspected for emissions the engine still had factory specs.they do put out water to tailpipe but vibe is stainless steel muffler a refinement.
