Reviewed: 2004 Porsche Cayenne

4dr SUV turbocharged 450hp 4.5L V8 6-speed shiftable automatic AWD w/low range

Why the 2004 Porsche Cayenne?

Powertrain performance

Real Porsche performance in a practical suv package. Enough power to tow a car on a trailer.

Handling

Confidence inspiring,. Most fun you can have in an suv on a twisty road.

Cargo capacity

7880lb towing capacity is enough to tow a race car on a trailer and fit my two big dogs in the back. Also fits four adults and their ski gear, with a rack.

Materials & workmanship

I have a 24 year old Porsche that has proven to be a great car and really well put together. The Cayenne show all the signs of the same quality of workmanship.

Past personal experience

I have owned 2 other Porsches, 1 VW and 2 Audis. All have been great cars. The Porsches seem to be put together a little better than the others.

Why Not the 2004 Porsche Cayenne?

Exterior styling

Just a little goofy looking to me.

Fuel economy

Traditional suv type mileage.

Audio & nav systems

No Bluetooth, no ipod connection. Very expensive to add those options to the fiber optic system. No touch screen. Lots of speakers but could still fill the cab better.
