Reviewed: 2008 Saab 9-3

2dr Convertible turbocharged 255hp 2.8L V6 6-speed shiftable automatic FWD

Why the 2008 Saab 9-3?

Exterior styling

It is a great looking convertible

Powertrain performance

Very quick and the automatic trans does is the best one they have produced.

Reliability & durability

Everything works

Handling

Very responsive, turns on a dime, stable and fun to drive. SOunds great!

Past personal experience

This is my second convertible in a row. With the optional screen installed, I drop the top whenever the temperature is above 40. I am more likely to drive on back roads to enjoy the experience.

Why Not the 2008 Saab 9-3?

Audio & nav systems

Audio is OK except iPod integration is a wire. The navigation system not appealing, if you can get it at all. They should look at Accura & Infinity. ONstar is useless. They need Bluetooth. Let Apple & Bose do the iPod integration.

Agree with all of the comments. This is my third Saab convert and it's absolutely the best. Dealer from which I bought the car informed me last month that they no longer service Saab. I was calling only to schedule an oil change. Fortunately, there is a local garage that specializes in Saabs. Given that the car is 10 years old, it performs remarkably well.
