Best Reason to Buy the Saab 9-3: Brand reputation & image
I had never known Saab until the moment I saw a black 93 stationwagon in a used car lot. I started my research, by that time Saab was already bankrupted so that Saabs are cheap to buy but expensive to own. I did my pros and cons and decided to went for it. This isa very special car, very handsomely styled and very, very cool!

Best Reason Not to Buy the Saab 9-3: Materials & workmanship
fit and finish and some cheap interior plastic bits are the major left downs of this otherwise very upscale car, but I can easily live with that.

Best Reason to Buy the Saab 9-3: Powertrain performance
There is a reason modern luxury and performance car manfacturers like BMW are abandoning their 6 cyclinder naturally aspirated powerplants and moving to turbocharged 4 cylinder motors. The reason is the unparalleled performance with economy and that these engines afford. They are easy to maintain and work on too. The turbocharger increases volumetric efficiency enabling them to produce greater than 100 hp per litre of displacement. As well, Saab's Trionic 8 engine management system makes them not just powerful, but reliable. Combined with a manual 6 speed transmission, these cars provide an exhilarating and economical driving experience.

Best Reason Not to Buy the Saab 9-3: Dealer practices
Unfortunately poor management and zero marketing strategy on the part of GM doomed this venerable marque to extinction. Accordingly, dealer support has begun to evaporate and repair parts can be difficult to obtain in a timely manner. Warranty service is unpredictable and dealer servicing is unenthusiastic in general.

Best Reason to Buy the Saab 9-3: Exterior styling
Great styling, looks great and modern. I love the headlights at night, they have a blue colored light strip on top giving it a distinct look at night. The grille and hood lines flow beautifully to the rear of the car. Great car if you want to stand out.

Best Reason Not to Buy the Saab 9-3: Handling
The standard suspension is really lacking in reducing body roll. Steering is quick enough, and feedback is sufficient, but on the light side. Torque steer is minimal.

Best Reason to Buy the Saab 9-3: Exterior styling
Unique styling that is not ostentatious. Great lines.

Best Reason Not to Buy the Saab 9-3: Insurance & depreciation
Poor retention of value. In 4 yrs car is worth 25-30% of its original cost. No demand for used Saabs

Best Reason to Buy the Saab 9-3: Handling
Saabs have a unique handling - not sports car or best in the business but they do well in curves and around town.

These cars do not hold their value one bit, I wonder how well the limited edition Turbo X will.

Best Reason to Buy the Saab 9-3: Brand reputation & image
The history and the underdog mentality. Also the brand is unique in getting good design and performance in one package. The SAAB brand known for there engineering of new technology, and will see more of that nowadays I guess.

Best Reason to Buy the Saab 9-3: Powertrain performance
Able to pass anyone without shifting, all turbo power. Rpms dont have to go over 4k to gain high speeds. Handles extremly well in the snow.

Best Reason Not to Buy the Saab 9-3: Reliability & durability
Creeky interrior parts, I have picked my car apart before the warranty ended. Without that warranty I would have regreted buying the car.
