4dr Wagon turbocharged 220hp 2.3L I4 5-speed shiftable automatic FWD

Why the 2005 Saab 9-5?

Exterior styling

Classic, elegant design that has aged well over the years.

Powertrain performance

The turbocharged 4-cylinder engine provides quite a bit of kick; acceleration is impressive.

Fuel economy

4 hours of 70-75 mph, summer temperatures with the A/C on -- 35 miles to the Imperial gallon

Handling

Responsive handling, tight turning circle for such a big car

Controls and instruments

Classic Saab dash layout puts the controls where you expect them to be -- within easy and logical reach of the driver.

Why Not the 2005 Saab 9-5?

Ride smoothness

The 9-5 rides fairly hard, especially at low speeds.

Quietness

There is a fair bit of wind and tire noise on the highway.

Driving position & visibility

The driving position is fine, but rear visibility in the wagon is compromised by blind-spots created by the massive C-pillars.
