This rectified the whine / grinding and fixed sloppy transmission issue. Bad heater blower motor Could not fix transmission shudder, wheel imbalance, and alignment problems despite repeated attempts, car bought back by dealer. Steering wheel squeal never fixed.

The GM rep kept emphasizing the age of the vehicle and repeatedly told me because it was SO OLD they couldn’t provide any cost contribution. Car is riding quiet and clean, no thanks to GM.

Still not fixed!  I haven't had it checked out yet but I have read that warped rotors are a problem with this model and when I hit the brakes I get a pulsing sound, different than when the anti-lock brakes are activated, so I think that the rotors are warped seemed to be leaking from the rear windshield drivers side, I put windshield RTV on it thought I had it fixed but I still have a leak from someplace. I will either go all the way around the window with RTV or have it replaced. Then wait.
