Introduction

Overall it has been a good car. Not the fanciest, not the smoothest, but reliable.

Why the 2003 Saturn L-Series?

Reliability & durability

Very reliable. I can count on one hand how many times the car needed to be in the shop for more than one day (other than for maintenance work). Earlier in my ownership, I did not take very good care. 6 years later, and with better maintenance on my part, it is still running strong. 10 years old, 164,000 miles, and no major mechanical repairs.

Exterior styling

I really liked the exterior styling when I first got it. It is still an attractive car, albeit dated.

Why Not the 2003 Saturn L-Series?

Materials & workmanship

Interior materials have not held up as well as I would like. The driver's seat cushion has lost its firmness, there is a hole where the fabric has worn thin, the lumbar support no longer works well. The handle of the glove box snapped in two a few years back. The driver's visor broke. The fabric on the roof is starting to come down, but I do live in a hot climate.

Quietness

Not really quiet.
