The handling is great, the manual transmission is great, and the ride is comfortable. Best Reason Not to Buy the Subaru Legacy: Discounts & incentives None were available at the time I bought mine. These tend to sell as soon as they hit the lots, so it's tough to get a good deal on one. I think the Golf TDI is worth it though. There seems to be some crossover between Audi owners and Subaru owners as this has the most European look of Subaru's library of designs. Best Reason Not to Buy the Subaru Legacy: Interior styling Overall, interior quality is good (for Subaru). Minor niggle that I still hate: no cup holders in the door sills. It's trivial, but I'd really use them if they were there. Nice chassis balance, adequate acceleration, excellent brakes, comfortable controlled ride. The car has an over-inflated look to it compared to the previous sleeker Legacy model. While the ground clearance may be necessary for the Outback model it is excessive in a sedan, especially the "sport" model. I never had any problems, it was a solid car, as all Subarus seem to be.
