Why Not the 2009 Toyota Avalon?

Materials & workmanship

Having owned 8 different Toyotas over the years I have seen a steady decline in quality in recent years. This was well reflected in the Avalon. For an upscale car, the fit and finish were quite poor. No comparison with the Genesis.

Front seat support & comfort

Seats are too short. Toyota seats are generally not comfortable, but for a car in this price range I would have expected better.

Exterior styling

Bland and boring.

Audio & nav systems

The nav is a joke. One of the worst I have seen in any car. Even the sales people said it was of poor quality. One noted that the Camry had a better nav.

Interior styling

The interior looked cheap. The plastic was cheap looking and had a cheap feel. The fit and finish was poor, at best.
