4dr SUV 239-horsepower 4.0L V6 6-speed manual AWD w/low range

Why the 2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser?

Powertrain performance

One of the few true off-road vehicles available on the market, extremely capable in snow and difficult driving conditions, good towing performance

Safety & braking

Excellent crash test results, the only off-road vehicle with top safety ratings in all categories (offset front, side, structural integrity and safety cage strength). Good brakes, VSC and handling.

Reliability & durability

My third Toyota. Overall have more than 10 years of driving experience in three different Toyotas and had absolutely ZERO problems - not a single failure.

Price or payments

Very affordable considering vehicle capabilities. The only two comparable (but still inferior) vehicles in the market (Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and Hummer H3) are at least $10,000 more expensive

Handling

In spite of being a very capable offroad vehicle, the ride is (relatively) smooth, and handling is responsive and precise. Much better than Jeep Wrangler, for example.
