Why the 2002 Toyota Highlander?

Fuel economy

Making conscious choices to drive gas-sparingly, I often get over 400 miles per fill up.

Front seat support & comfort

It has lumbar support, can be moved into any position electronically, has a very safe and usable headrest and has stayed cushy for 8 years.

Cargo capacity

I garden and haul plants/trees, have large dogs and am able to bring them with me, and enjoy bringing my cruiser bike out to parks using a bike rack hitched to the back.

Reliability & durability

It just keeps running. I have never been stranded.

Why Not the 2002 Toyota Highlander?

Safety & braking

I found the brakes squishy and slow to respond. Since replacing them with racing brakes and rotors I feel completely confident in my ability to stop quickly if I need to.

Controls and instruments

I wish it were a bit flashier and that I could easily and automatically find the button for my hazards when I occasionally use them.
