Why Not the 2007 Toyota Matrix?

Materials & workmanship

rattles, from the first day. quality of workmanship and assembly was so poor. car was vibrating on idle like an old tractor. tried to fix the rattles - it was impossible. the dealer was useless and helpless as well. miserable car.

Fuel economy

expected the famous corolla frugality and efficiency - it has the same powertrain. we were totally disappointed. below freezing point, fuel consumption was scary: 17-20 l/100km. the best mileage we got was only 10 l/100 km.

Quietness

rattling, vibrating, harsh machine.

Safety & braking

brakes are not impressive, and once they finally snap the disks, all the body becomes unstable. terrible suspension. no abs, no ebd, no esp. handling absolutely disconnected from the driver.

Ride smoothness

jumping as rabbit on every pothole or small bump. low-profile tires are absolutely unsuitable to this car. just another proof of poor engineering and design. shock-absorbers are not suitable for car body style (semi-hatch, semi-wagon).
