Front brake calipers were rusty and corroded. Front rotors were in need of replacement as well. Used next generation Sienna brake calipers instead and rebuilt them with a rebuild kit. Bought Toyota OEM brake rotors and pads (for next gen Sienna/Highlander) to match calipers. Much improved stopping performance. This car needed stronger calipers and bigger rotors from the beginning. |
203000 mi US $300 |
Rear calipers, rotors, pads, and parking brake shoes replaced. Calipers were not braking correctly and created uneven pressure on rotors. Attempted to replaced brake hoses near calipers as well, but they were too rusted even after using penetrating oil for a couple of days. Will need to replace them probably, when it's warmer. Braking performance is MUCH better. Parking brake adjusted after installation of rotors, calipers, pads, and shoes. Also took this opportunity to install Timbren rear suspension system to decrease rear sag when loaded. What a pain. |
