2012 Volkswagen CC Pros and Cons at TrueDelta: Owner Pros and Cons by jettabof

Exterior styling
Obviously the car is a looker - tough to find anybody who doesn't like the exterior profile. Almost bought an A6 for $20,000 more and the CC certainly turns many more heads.
Ride smoothness
Wide wheelbase creates a surprising "stuck to the road" feel. Driver always feels very in control. It's an ideal highway cruiser, for that reason.
Feature availability
Lux trim contained everything in the package price. Again, going with VW here the options don't cost you much, whereas getting the Audi and loading it up comparatively would be another 5 figures tacked-on.
Handling
Wide wheelbase leaves the driver in supreme control. Steering very responsive, car just goes where you want, when you want.
Front seat support & comfort
Press reviews have talked about this. Great shape, and the pleather is comfy (not on hot summer days).
Driving position & visibility
Rear visibility from the drivers' seat is *horrible*. Huge blind spots, and backing out of a parking spot is an exercise in faith. This is the natural compromise for the sleep shape of the car. Unfortunately the Japan tsunami knocked the camera module supplier offline so I have no rearview camera.
Cargo capacity
The trunk is huge, but unless your object is relatively flat, it isn't getting in. My old Jetta used to be able to take a big TV in the back seat. Here the low roof line prevents that.
Discounts & incentives
My dealer wasn't willing to, ah, deal... too much.
Fuel economy
Not quite as good as I had hoped. Averaging 28.5 mostly highway. Trip computer is consistently 1 mpg over real world measures at fillup.
