Door handle switch wouldn't lower window when pulled.
Window not lowering correctly.
Battery discharged/wouldn't hold adequate charge, caused numerous intermittent electrical malfunctions in navigation/media system. Eventually car wouldn't start. New battery under warranty fixed problem.
Backup camera stopped working. The wire going to the trunk lid was cracked. Part simply replaced.
Replaced sensors, multiple engine lights came on

Entertainment system right side buttons didn't work. Unit replaced under warranty.
The battery had a defective cell which was not allowing the vehicle to hold a charge. We had to jump start the vehicle on a few occasions. Battery was replaced under warranty
The trunk switch had dismantled causing the trunk to not close properly. Also the key fob's unlock button no longer unlocks the trunk as it did when I bought the car. The repair didn't completely fix the problem, however.
Battery had to be replaced. Also, iPod no longer functioned with radio. I had guessed it was a bad cable, but they said it wasn't and replaced the "box," but that didn't help either. They then called "engineers" at VW, who figured it out.
Rear tail light bulb keeps going out or saying not working on dash, Body Control Unit needs to be replaced.
Bluetooth suddenly failed to sync with phone contacts. Bluetooth did work if the audio only was used with no phone to car features (such as contacts, missed calls, last call, etc.). A new Bluetooth module is on order to fix the problem.
Right rear brake light went out
Bluetooth module failed.
Motor noise from passenger side rear window. Motor replaced under warranty. Parking brake error message (extremely rare). Brake functions as normal. Dealer claims no error code was logged and could not replicate. No repairs done.
One of the buttons on the RCD-510 radio unit cracked and fell off. Dealer ordered new radio unit under warranty. Replaced RCD-510 unit under warranty.
A malfunction in the trunk harness caused the trunk to become unopenable. The harness was ordered and replaced under extended warranty.
Vehicle drops blue tooth signal at random. Bluetooth
For the second time, the Dipped Beam light appeared on my dash board. I had lost my Left DRL/Low beam. Then in the same week, also lost my Right DRL/Low beam. Both bulbs burned out. Replaced under CPO warranty w/ $50 deductible
Battery would not charge or start car, which I found odd for a 3 year old car with less the 50K miles. Turns out the dealer didn't agree, I had to buy a new battery even thought I bought this certified VW from this dealership!
The outside brake light on the drivers side failed for the second time, it was replaced by the dealer at for a fee. The next week the passenger side outside brake light failed while at a different VW dealership. Replaced without charge.
Lost once half of power from battery
Bluetooth incompatibilty with my IPhone. They replaced the sensor.

Multiple tailight bulb failures - all bulbs replaced and no problems since.
Both headlights failed within a day of each other. Replacing them in near subzero weather was very difficult Stereo system completely stopped outputting sound. Tuning appeared to be fine, Bluetooth and other media still connected but no sound through speakers. Fixed by hard-rebooting system by holding down power button for approx. 10 seconds.
Trunk release cable needed to be replaced, faulty connector and ground identified
Both headlights burned out within weeks of each other. This is the third set of headlights I have put on this car
No backup camera and dealer found wiring in the trunk lid damaged

bad alternator at 500miles car would not start. never made it out of showroom. new alternator and battery replaced under factory wty.
also radio was not working after blue tooth phone call. they could not duplicate problem so nothing was done. It's an intermittent issue.
trunk latch would automatically unlock when closing trunk. Dealer replaced harness pn 3C8-971-182-E
Driver side rear brake light burned out. Took more than ten minutes, but maybe because it was my first time.
Driver's side headlight burned out. Replaced lamps on both sides.
had to have a second brake light installed at my cost. Repair took more than 30 minutes
Tail light out. Replaced bulb, still went on and off. Replaced socket, same problem. Now replacing wiring harness. Hope it works. Three trips already.
climate control went out. would not blow hot air. Replaced under warranty Backup camera failed
A recurring light bulb failure and the $15 we were charged for the first light bulb caused us to inspect the sockets. We determined they were melted enough to cause the problem. The dealer replaced all taillight sockets under warranty
Check Engine light - Sensor was defective and rear light housing was replaced Took 4 hours to locate sensor issue.

nothing on steering wheel is working: horn, airbag, steering wheel contols.I will get it looked at when i get the oil changed. car continues the streak of not being able to go oil change to oil change without something failing.
replaced clock spring during 60K maintenance visit. $54 diagnosis fee, $160 parts and labor.
Gas tank was showing only 7/8 full on filling to top. Problem diagnosed as faulty sending unit in tank. Part replaced; solved problem. Dealer even filled the tank.
Tail light was third bulb replaced in life of car. Dealer ordering board replacement to prevent repeat.
This was routine 20k maintenance. Every once in a while the bulb went out on the taillight (a warning light on the dash went on), so the filament was replaced. Only cost a few bucks.
30k scheduled maintenance. CEL on and rear left taillight bulb had to be replaced. Had to return a 2nd time as bulb had to be ordered and computer was not available.
A tail light was intermittently broken. Shop replaced bulb (and attempted to charge me for it) earlier, but problem returned. They then said there was a tech note about a specific type of bulb that should not be used. Replaced bulb again.
for the second time another tail light went out. Seems like every 5 months a light goes out somewhere.
Went in again for the both rear tail lights out again.
