I drive an average of 20,000 miles per year and am currently on track to put more than 40,000 miles in two years of ownership. Not one problem whatsoever. No visits to dealership other than routine maintenance. Very solid vehicle so far. full 2012 Volkswagen Jetta review

Sunroof decided to not close after two weeks, I had to give it a little help with my hand, then after three days it fixed itself. If it happens again it'll have to go back to the dealer for repair. Otherwise no problems. full 2013 Volkswagen Jetta review

I am averaging 39mpg with mixed driving. It would be higher but it is a fun car and it is difficult to maintain discipline for an entire tank of fuel. 500 miles is a long way to drive conservative lol. My economy keeps rising as the engine breaks in which can be up to 60000 miles. I love that it is as efficient as a hybrid, but does it at 80mph and doesnt feel gutless. full 2014 Volkswagen Jetta review

Stellar vehicle all around. Fuel economy is amazing, have gotten as low as 4.9L/100km with 110 km/hr highway driving and one driver and one passenger. Loaded, it still comes under 5.5. (I am not a heavy footed driver but do cruise at posted highway speeds plus a bit. Comfortable all around. Three months and 12,000km into ownership and I like it more and more. I checked out a whole bunch of cars and wanted fuel economy so had looked at the hybrids then thought that this is a proven technology, drove one and was sold on it. The hybrids that I drove were more expensive and all had a quirk or two when driving (including the Jetta hybrid) full 2014 Volkswagen Jetta review

Averaging around 41mpg in the first week - my daily commute is 96 miles round trip. That mpg paired with the fun-to-drive factor made a VW diesel an easy choice for me over the hybrids I test drove. full 2013 Volkswagen Jetta review

With the TDI, I'm easily getting 45+ on the highway. The in-car MPG is a few MPG over actuals. Drove 600 miles in my first tank of gas. Even with a bike rack with three bikes on the back of my car (lots of extra drag), I was getting 40 MPG on a 180-mile highway trip. Fuel economy is better than excellent for a non-hybrid. full 2013 Volkswagen Jetta review

I drive 80 miles a day, 70/30 highway/city. I average 39 mpg per tank driving at an average 75 mph on highway. My normal range before I fill up is about 530 miles according to the trip computer, and there is still more than an 8th of tank left. full 2012 Volkswagen Jetta review
