2019 Volkswagon Passat 2.0T Wolfsburg Edition 500 mile review 2019 Volkswagen Passat Pros and Cons AcuraT VW made some compromises on the powertrain as they did with the display. The car insists on starting in second gear, which makes modulating the gas fairly difficult. In fact, I would say this car is probably the most difficult I had driving in traffic. Either I pushed the pedal... |

2012 Volkswagen Passat Pros and Cons goingquantum The engine is nothing special really. The car is quite heavy and 170hp leaves you wanting a bit more. However, the gas mileage is a pretty fair tradeoff. Additionally, sport mode makes the drive a bit more enjoyable. |

Overall: a solid cheap car. 2003 Volkswagen Passat Pros and Cons Member5566 The engine is surprisingly nice considering it only has 170 hp and 166 lb/ft of torque. Not the fastest car around, but can certainly get out of its own way. Cruising at 65 mph, the engine is around 3000 rpms, and you can still easily pass people without downshifting. |

2015 Volkswagen Passat 1.8T Sport Review Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh The Passat's new 170-horsepower 1.8-liter engine suffers from little turbo lag, and it pulls well from low rpm. But the Mazda's larger, non-turbocharged, 184-horsepower engine sounds and feels much more thrilling when revved. The Volkswagen's manual transmission does little to enhance the driving experience. The shifter and clutch are... Comparison vehicle: 2014 Mazda Mazda6 |

new to me cpo 2013 vw passat s, still a great german driving experience after my 2011 mb glk. 2013 Volkswagen Passat Pros and Cons Member23 excellent choice: solid, serene, safe, reliable tho a tad small in rear seats (same as c class on which glk is based, so no surprise). excellent highway cruiser, 6-11 hour non stop drives on highways leaves one feeling fine. found ex loaner as cpo, 19k miles for $30k, prem 1,... 2013 Passat TDI SE 6MT 2013 Volkswagen Passat Pros and Cons Member5887 not so much powertrain performance but powertrain choices, esp the fact that that car comes in a manual transmission. unusual for a midsize car others makes/models with a manual would be ford fusion, mazda 6, honda accord (that i know of) |

2013 Ford Fusion Titanium Review Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh The new Fusion's most powerful engine (until a future high-performance variant arrives), the Titanium's 2.0-liter turbo, has a peak output of "only" 240 horsepower, 40 short of the segment leader, the Passat V6. Like other fours, it also doesn't sound as sweet as a good six. In its defense, this... Comparison vehicle: 2012 Volkswagen Passat |

2004 Volkswagen Passat Pros and Cons Member4019 The W8 w/ 5spd Tip-tronic + FourMotion AWD is one incredible powertrain combo. Only downside is fuel economy. |

2006 Volkswagen Passat Pros and Cons A member in California, United States The power is suprising for a small 4cylinder. Its very smooth and doesnt sound bad. The freeway performance is amazing. It will keep up with a mustang gt on the freeway.. |
|
2004 Volkswagen Passat Pros and Cons Member4437 1.8T peppy, but not as smooth or fun as accord V6 |
|
2008 Volkswagen Passat Pros and Cons Member4076 Both engines, Turbo 4 and VR6 deliver strong acceleration, 3-Mode, 6 speed tip-tronic automatic transmission smooth shifting, always finds correct gear, faster in sport mode, has manual shift mode, love the paddle shifters. |
|
2010 Volkswagen Passat Pros and Cons AustinTXdriver 2.0 liter turbo charged 4-cylinder with a DSG (Direct Shift Gearbox), this engine/transmission combination beats many 6 cylinder offerings by other manufacturers. The car is a rocket, feels faster than the 200 HP in the specs. Plus, I get 26 mpg combined. |
|
2002 Volkswagen Passat Pros and Cons Member2970 Hesitation on take-off, it seems it is a transmission characteristic if you can believe CR. The Turbo is nice one it bites but it takes longer to spin up compared to other compact Turbo cars I have owned. There is also a lag when using Tiptronic. |
|
2008 Volkswagen Passat Pros and Cons Member4076 200 HP turbo is quick and responsive w/ minimum turbo lag, 6 speed auto trans w/ paddle shifters, sport and manual mode is smooth shifting and always seems to find the correct gear. 32-34 MPG consistently on long highway trips at avg speed of 70 MPH. |

2002 Volkswagen Passat Pros and Cons Member2432 We have the 1.8T and manual transmission. Manuals are hard to come by. The turbo four has enough power and gets good mileage. |

2007 Volkswagen Passat Pros and Cons Member3900 The turbo is quick to respond and predictable. I love this engine. |
|
2006 Volkswagen Passat Pros and Cons Member3763 The 2.0t seemed over-matched by the mass of the car. Transmission had to shift frequently, even while maintaining speed. |
|
2003 Volkswagen Passat Pros and Cons Member3503 Car makes more than enough power, a lot of low end torque |
