I first fell in love with the VW Toureg in 2012 and have had it on my short list since. But it was lacking in some of the advanced equipment that was coming available on both domestic and Japanese competitors. For 2015 VW has added ALL the bells and whistles to the Toureg Lux. Like so many who frequent TrueDelta, I cross-shopped everything out there: Ford Edge Sport, Nissan Murano Platinum, Chevy Tahoe LTZ, Acura MDX, Audi X5, BMW X5, Mercedes ML400, Cadillac Escalade, Porsche Cayenne. I found that the VW offered the best all round value for what I wanted: luxury finishes and ride, all-wheel drive, adequate power and lasting good looks. I also found a dealer that was flexible on price; it's not every day that a VW dealer sells a $60K car. It's very early in my ownership experience but so far I'm extremely pleased with the choice.
