BMW 7-Series Reliability And Durability: Pros
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2009 4dr Sedan turbocharged 400hp 4.4L V8
6-speed shiftable automatic RWD
Traded Aug 2020 for 2018 750xi M Sport. Last miles on the 2009 required a LOT of maintenance, Alternator cost 2200. full 2009 BMW 7-Series review
2006 4dr Sedan 360-horsepower 4.8L V8
6-speed shiftable automatic RWD
No problems, always ready to go full out or just to the grocery store. Does not wear out or deteriorate. full 2006 BMW 7-Series review
BMW 7-Series Reliability And Durability: Cons
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2009 4dr Sedan turbocharged 400hp 4.4L V8
6-speed shiftable automatic RWD
Various parts faile at 85k full 2009 BMW 7-Series review
2007 4dr Sedan 360-horsepower 4.8L V8
6-speed shiftable automatic RWD
BMW makes the absolute worst rubber seals, gaskets, and o-rings and interior kick panels of any premium car maker in the world. More than $5,000 worth of work needed in less than 100k miles just to fix every little oil leak, coolant leak, cracked rubber gasket, seal or scratched piece of interior trim. They could learn a lot from Hyundai, Honda, Toyota, or any Domestic Brand about what types of gaskets and rubber to use that don't fall apart after just a few years of service. full 2007 BMW 7-Series review
2001 4dr Sedan 282-horsepower 4.4L V8
5-speed shiftable automatic RWD
MANY "WEAR AND TEAR" ITEMS HAVE OCCURRED, INCLUDE HAVING TO REPLACE THE COOLING SYSTEM, REPLACING THE BELTS AND HOSES (WHICH ARE NOT CHEAP) AND AND MOST RECENTLY REPLACING THE REAR BALL JOINTS AND THE ENGINE GASKET SEALS full 2001 BMW 7-Series review
