What Our Members Are Saying about the Seat Room and Comfort of the 2012 Volvo S60

2012 Volvo S60 Seat Room and Comfort: Pros
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2013 4dr Sedan turbocharged 250hp 2.5L I5
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
The driver's seat and driver's position are outstanding, the best I've ever experienced and I've driven Lexuses and Infinitis. Passenger's seat is also very comfortable.rnrnCaution: Back seat and trunk are small. Also, no spare. You get an inflation kit. You can pay $250 for a donut spare. see full Volvo S60 review
2013 4dr Sedan turbocharged 300hp 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic AWD
Volvo has a reputation for quality seating - I am very pleased with the comfort and support. I had a recent trip of about 14 hours, and the seats provided the best comfort I've had compared to all other cars I've owned and have drove in long distance trips. see full Volvo S60 review
2012 4dr Sedan turbocharged 250hp 2.5L I5
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
Very comfortable driving position. Visibility is outstanding in all quarters. I've taken this car on frequent road trips (>300 miles) and I've been very comfortable throughout the trip. see full Volvo S60 review
2012 Volvo S60 Seat Room and Comfort: Cons
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2013 4dr Sedan turbocharged 250hp 2.5L I5
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
Very tight in back. see full Volvo S60 review
2013 4dr Sedan turbocharged 300hp 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic AWD
Rear seat space is smaller than 3-series BMW. It's fine for children/young adults, but full size people will find it a little tight. Volvo should have added about six inches to the length and a few inches in width. see full Volvo S60 review

What Our Members Are Saying about the Powertrain of the 2012 Volvo S60

2012 Volvo S60 Powertrain: Pros
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2013 4dr Sedan turbocharged 250hp 2.5L I5
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
I have a 250 HP turbo 5 cylinder 6 speed which performs flawlessly. There is slight turbolag from a dead stop. Acceleration from 35 up to 80 is fast and effortless. Driving bending roads is fun! see full Volvo S60 review
2013 4dr Sedan turbocharged 300hp 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic AWD
I compared the 2013 Volvo S60 T6 AWD with BMW 3 series and Infiniti G-35 cars. The performance on the Volvo exceeded both handily. The pickup on this version of the S60 (not the R series) is spectacular - very good performance with high torque. see full Volvo S60 review
2012 4dr Sedan turbocharged 250hp 2.5L I5
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
No complaints here. The car has an immense amount of torque, which makes it accelerate very well. Curiously, it is difficult not to accelerate quickly. Power is more than sufficient. The car has very good acceleration 0-60, 40-60, and 60-90. I've never felt a lack of power and I've always had at least as much as I've needed. Caveat: I've never driven the car faster than 95 mph. The transmission shifts quickly in normal mode. The car behaves much more aggressively in sport mode. Manual mode was a disappointment, with slow upshifts and downshifts. It was not really usable. However, Volvo upgraded the software, and manual mode is now truly outstanding! The up- and down-shifts are very fast, and it is easy to drive the car in city traffic in this mode. see full Volvo S60 review
