Took the dealer 3 tries, but finally repaired under compulsory used car warranty. No power to right-hand license plate light. Problem was somewhere inside the sealed fixture, and probably an unrepaired original defect. Cut a wire, drilled through the housing, and soldered wire to the appropriate terminal.
