Volvo XC90 Reliability and Durability: Cons
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2005 4dr SUV turbocharged 268hp 2.9L I6
4-speed shiftable automatic AWD
Too many issues with the T6 transmission, front end, and rear wheel hub bearings. At 3000 miles had to have front drive axle and ball joints replaced. At 31000 had both rear hub bearings replaced. No transmission replaced, but the history time is comin
2005 4dr SUV turbocharged 208hp 2.5L I5
5-speed shiftable automatic AWD
See above. I also should mention the OEM tires were garbage they wore at 18-20,000 miles. The car eats tires.
2003 4dr SUV turbocharged 268hp 2.8L I6
4-speed shiftable automatic AWD
transmission failures, hub failures, steering failures, axle chaft failures, radio failures

2006 4dr SUV 250-horsepower 3.0L H6
5-speed shiftable automatic AWD
@ 55k miles seems like a very reliable car
2006 4dr SUV 250-horsepower 3.0L H6
5-speed shiftable automatic AWD
This was a rental vehicle, then owned by a party who was not very good about routine maintenance, but the car is in excellent condition.
