What Our Members Are Saying about the Real Gas Mileage of the 2008 Infiniti G

2008 Infiniti G Real Gas Mileage: Pros
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2007 4dr Sedan 306-horsepower 3.5L V6
5-speed shiftable automatic AWD
My average for the life of the car is 21MPG. Not too bad for a car with this power and my lead foot. see full Infiniti G review
2008 Infiniti G Real Gas Mileage: Cons
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2009 2dr Coupe 330-horsepower 3.7L V6
7-speed shiftable automatic AWD
average 18 in town 24 highway. see full Infiniti G review
2009 2dr Coupe 330-horsepower 3.7L V6
7-speed shiftable automatic RWD
You do not buy a performance car and expect to get good gas mileage. At a 5 mpg or greater difference from my last car, it is taking some getting used too. see full Infiniti G review
2009 4dr Sedan 328-horsepower 3.7L V6
7-speed shiftable automatic AWD
With such a large displaced engine and so much power you will find that you will have so-so mpg if you drive mainly in the city like I do. Especially if you are a "spirited" driver like I tend to be. I am averaging about 14-16mpg 95% city. On the highway its a different story. I have averaged up to 28mpg @ 78mph, I kind of wish I drove more on the highway. see full Infiniti G review
2008 4dr Sedan 306-horsepower 3.5L V6
5-speed shiftable automatic AWD
With all that power available its hard not to use it. Expect in city driving to deliver less than 20mpg. see full Infiniti G review
2008 4dr Sedan 306-horsepower 3.5L V6
5-speed shiftable automatic AWD
5th gear is short and really infringes on getting decent mileage (15-17 in mixed and 22-23 hwy). Accurate EPA figures but the new 7 speed AT for 2009 really helps. see full Infiniti G review
2008 4dr Sedan 306-horsepower 3.5L V6
5-speed shiftable automatic RWD
burns too much fuel, I would like another 6 mpg even if power were cut see full Infiniti G review
2008 4dr Sedan 306-horsepower 3.5L V6
5-speed shiftable automatic RWD
The car is just not about fuel economy. You pay for performance. I get ~18 in suburb style driving and ~23 on highway but that maybe just me. see full Infiniti G review
2008 2dr Coupe 330-horsepower 3.7L V6
5-speed shiftable automatic RWD
With both highway and city driving, I would only average 19 mpg with moderate gas pedal use vs 24 mpg in the c300, which is AWD. One month of strictly city driving with heavy gas pedal use I average only 13mpg... Yikes! see full Infiniti G review
2008 4dr Sedan 306-horsepower 3.5L V6
5-speed shiftable automatic AWD
Takes a lot of fuel... 14L/100km about. see full Infiniti G review
2008 4dr Sedan 306-horsepower 3.5L V6
6-speed manual RWD
While not terrible, ~20mpg is by no means phenomenal. Relatively comparable cars get ~23-27mpg, but typically also have smaller engines which explains a good portion of the difference. see full Infiniti G review
