A major disappointment. But, to be fair, I live at the top of a mountain in LA and all of my past cars also had bad mileage. It isn't bad on the highway...I get average of 22 mpg...but pure city driving drags it down to 16-17.

having owned a c280 with 3 liter engine and been very happy with performance plus low 30s highway, mid to high 20s suburban, why not put 3 liter in the glk? while glk is heavier, 3.5 liter penalizes mpg for little better performance. otherwise there is nothing not to like and alot to like about this great vehicle.

Performance comes at a price...gas mileage more on the order of a full size SUV. Wish a diesel had been available.
