Please provide details on what you'd like. What is it about the Accord or Camry that you like. What else have you considered. For instance do you want a v6 or 4 cylinder. Is the distance to a dealer important? If so what brands are near you.

For instance a Nissan leaf perfectly fits your needs as listed but I'm guessing you're not after an electric. But what about a Toyota Prius?

Personally if I was looking for a midsize for under $10k I'd look for a Hyundai Sonata or Kia Optima.

The Accord and most Honda's in the early 2000s had bad transmissions. A Camry would have a better ride than an Accord, but is more boring. My 2005 Prius has 243,000 miles and still runs and it has never broken down. It's worth about 5k to 6k. Try to get a 2010 or newer Prius because that's when they redesigned it.
