About TrueDelta's Car Repair History Survey

Random model exterior

To minimize bias, the Car Reliability Survey, TrueDelta's main source of car reliability information, only collects data on car problems and repairs that occur after people join the panel.

But many members wanted to submit their entire car repair histories, including car problems and repairs that occurred before they joined. For them, TrueDelta developed the Car Repair History Survey.

This additional survey lacks the other's bias-minimizing features. So the histories it gathers should not be used to infer car problem rates. They are best used as an indicator of the problems a model might have.

Up to five repair histories per model are publicly visible. Only members are able to access the others. (Membership is free for participants in the reliability research.)

Please join the panel and help make it happen.

New in April 2008: The results in this section now display car problems and car repairs reported using the Car Reliability Survey as well as the Car Repair History Survey. So from now on the survey in this section should only be used to report repairs that cannot be reported through the main survey.
