| BMW 7-Series: Reasons to buy |
|---|
Exterior styling: Simple and good looking |
Handling: Cannot be beat or duplicated by any other vehicle |
Ride smoothness: It is smooth on all road conditions and safe |
Quietness: I like a quiet car. This BMW is quiet! |
Reliability & durability: No problems, always ready to go full out or just to the grocery store. Does not wear out or deteriorate. |

2004 BMW 7-Series4-door Sedan |
| BMW 7-Series: Reasons to buy |
|---|
Front seat comfort: High quality leather. Extreme adjustability for driver's seat, head rest, lumbar support and variable length cushion. The front seat has 3-level adjustable heated cushions and 3-level adjustable air-conditioned seats. It also has a massage feature. |
Exterior styling: It is elegant, simple beautiful lines. It is not overly showy or ornate |
Ride smoothness: It soaks up bumps and goes through major road undulations with great aplomb. |
Powertrain performance: This is more of a luxury car but it has tremendous get up & go when you floor it. The engine makes a very good sounding rumble. The fat torque curve is obvious when accelerating from a stand still and passing on the hiway. |
Safety & braking: The brakes are incredibly smooth and powerful. |

| BMW 7-Series: Reasons not to buy |
|---|
Fuel economy: I just bought it so I don't know my individual fuel economy but the guy before me was averaging 12.6 L/100kms. |
Control design: It is very difficult to control all the features of the car through the i-drive which is very non-intuitive. |
Insurance & depreciation: The depreciation curve is pretty steep for large vehicles like this unfortunately. I bought mine used so I benefitted from this. |
Reliability & durability: It doesn't have a great reputation for reliability and the repairs can be very expensive. My car had no isssues noted on its pre-purchase mechanical inspection. |
Interior styling: The dashboard definitely not the best laid-out in the class and others look much better. |
