Single Vehicle Reviews: Buick LaCrosse Pros and Cons
2007 Buick LaCrosse4-door Sedan |
Buick LaCrosse: Reasons to buy
---
Reliability & durability: Zero problems except one recall to repair a wiring problem concerning safety. Proven engine and drivetrain.
Available features: Love the heated power seats, sound system and information panel.
Quietness: After driving an Impala, it was another world to drop into the quiet of the LaCrosse.
Handling: LaCrosse combines the correct amount of spring rate for a good compromise between soft ride and safe handling. A bit harsher than the "bigger" Buick that results in better cornering and safer braking.
Driving position & visibility: It just seems right for a 5 ft. 8 in. individual. I have driven 20 hours straight and felt better than any other vehicle I have driven that long.

LaCrosse: Reasons not to buy
---
Interior styling: Why in the world did they put that awful, cheap lookng band of shiney reflective material across the instrument panel. Besides looking so cheap, it can reflect the sun enough to be painful to older eyes. I consider it a safety hazard! Also lack of pockets
Rear seat room & comfort: Not enough leg room. No place to store anything.
Price or payments: A bit overpriced considering the differences between Impala and LaCrosse.

2007 Buick LaCrosse4-door Sedan |
Buick LaCrosse: Reasons to buy
---
Powertrain performance: This car has plenty of torque in the low end.
Handling: This car handles well and maneuvers corners with confidence. It rides firm but supple at the same time.
Control design: The cruise control is simply designed and on the steering wheel as well as the radio controls. OnStar is a great service to have also
Quietness: This is the quietest domestic car I have ever driven. The only car that came close to this quietness was the Chrysler 300, but I don't think Chrysler will survive.
Interior styling: Quality and soft touch materials. Well put together.

2006 Buick LaCrosse4-door Sedan |
Buick LaCrosse: Reasons to buy
---
Quietness: Ride is very quiet under almost all conditions.
Ride smoothness: Smoothest driving car I have own. CXS is not too floaty and handles road imperfections very well.
Reliability & durability: Buick's reliability is on par with Lexus in survey's now. My dealership service experiences, 3 oil changes and two recall repais, have been excellent.
Front seat comfort: Wide comfortable front seats. Heated seats are great and the leather feels very good. Lumbar support in drivers seat is excellent.
Exterior styling: I like how the lines flow and that it is a more chiseled appearance, especially in Black with the chrome appearance packeage and chrome wheels, than recent Regals. Red, Blue, and Black are best colors for this vehicles. Light colors do not look good.

2006 Buick LaCrosse4-door Sedan |
Buick LaCrosse: Reasons to buy

Exterior styling: While I have been a long time Buick driver, I just was not taken by the new style and could not bring myself to buy one.

LaCrosse: Reasons not to buy
---
Exterior styling: The exterior styling just did not grab me. There is something missing. No flair!.
Interior styling: Although I liked some aspects of the interior, I liked the Allure style better. Again, it just did not appeal to me.
Powertrain performance: It has been a terrible existance with the 3.8 v6 engine in our 2001 Impala. I just hate it. When Buick put the same engine into the LaCrosse, my interest just crashed. I did drive it and found the engine just too noisy. Hello 300c.
Front seat comfort: It was not comfortable. The seat bottom was too short.
Past personal experience: Overall I just did not like the Lacrosse. Too bad because I wanted to buy a Buick.
