Single Vehicle Reviews: Buick LaCrosse Pros and Cons
2010 Buick LaCrosse4-door Sedan |
| Buick LaCrosse: Reasons not to buy |
|---|
Driving position & visibility: Front pillars and large sideview mirrors makes left-hand turning a little scary. |
Cargo capacity & towing: Heavy trunk hinges intrude on cargo space. Shape of trunk and trunk opening does not lend itself to good cargo space. |
Fuel economy: I guess it isn't too bad. Been averaging around 21 around town and as much as 24 to 29 on the open highway. Needing only regular fuel is a plus. |

2010 Buick LaCrosse4-door Sedan |
| Buick LaCrosse: Reasons to buy |
|---|
Available features: You'll have a hard time finding a car in this price range with all the convenience and technology features in one place. The Heads Up Display is especially nice. Lots of features well thought through. |
Quietness: Lots of effort went into sound deadening with this car. No appreciable wind noise, even at high speed. No need to crank the radio to compensate for road noise, though if you get the 19" tire option, you'll hear more of it than the 18" |
Exterior styling: Just a classy looking car. Combine it with the Mocha Steel Metallic paint and you have a car which just whispers elegance. Smooth flowing lines, really nice fit and finish and just enough chrome to add accents without being overpowering. |
Interior styling: The interior has been described by one of my passengers as an airplane cockpit, especially the way it lights up at night, with the soft glowing accent lights. Lots of nice touches with most controls comfortably within reach. |
Audio & nav systems: Get the higher end Harman Kardon audio system. It's about the best I've heard to date in the area of stock audio systems. Nice crisp highs, very decent bass. The nav system is easy to read and use, both day and night. XM NavTraffic is nice addition. |

Driving position & visibility: The A-pillars really get in the way of front corner visibility. Smallish rear window doesn't help rear visibility but isn't bad (get the back-up camera!). the front seat head rests are not at all comfortable - you'll likely need to lean the seats back. |

2010 Buick LaCrosse4-door Sedan |
| Buick LaCrosse: Reasons to buy |
|---|
Exterior styling: Fresh & distinctive looks. |
Quietness: beats my 2009 Mercedes E350 4matic |
Handling: confidence inspiring and handles all road conditions very well |
Audio & nav systems: Audio is very flexible with great system for Favs. Sounds good except for loose boomy bass response. |
Discounts & incentives: Able to use $1500 GM credit cards reward money and "conquest" rebate |

| Buick LaCrosse: Reasons not to buy |
|---|
Dealership practices: Arrogance and unwilling to deal much on price even as model year closed out. |
Cargo capacity & towing: Trunk can't hold four golf bags |
Materials & workmanship: Dash is worst fit to door edges ever seen. Area around Home Garage Remote buttons is poorly reinforced and flexes when a button is used. |
Reliability & durability: Have two warranty issues within days of leaving the dealership. Rubber seal around passenger door is loose. Periodic clang / bang immediately after start. |
Driving position & visibility: Wide pillars obstruct visibility. No guidelines or sightlines to gauge width of car or end of hood or trunk. |

2010 Buick LaCrosse4-door Sedan |
| Buick LaCrosse: Reasons to buy |
|---|
Exterior styling: Looks rich enough to pass for a entry level german luxury car. Everything flows together and is easy on the eyes. |
Interior styling: Decent amount of wood. Cabin wraps around you and is very inviting and roomy. |
Ride smoothness: Rides like an old caddy. Good for transporting passengers. Good for long trips. |
Quietness: Quiet even at high RPMS. Good for people that don't care for hearing the engine. |
Available features: Almost all the features that higher end cars have. |

| Buick LaCrosse: Reasons not to buy |
|---|
Powertrain performance: 4 cylinder is way too small for this car. The FWD v6 is barely powerful enough. |
Handling: Soft suspension makes tt feel a little bigger than it actually is. |
Reliability & durability: Have read a lot of people having electronic issues with this car. |
Price or payments: Low residual values make it expensive to lease. |

2009 Buick LaCrosse4-door Sedan |
| Buick LaCrosse: Reasons to buy |
|---|
Interior styling: Titanium leather seats, dashboard design. |
Color choices: Quicksilver metallic is an attractive color when combined with the chrome trim and chrome wheels. |
Exterior styling: Substantial and distinctive front end, character linbes on bodyside, greenhouse shape. |
Reliability & durability: Reputation for reliability of 3800 is well-known. GM W-body platform is familiar to me. |
Discounts & incentives: Received over $7500 in incentives. Made this car a good value. |
