Introduction

This is the car that everyone seems to enjoy ridiculing.  I bought mine because I wanted a CAR (not SUV or crossover) that could hold stuff and provide a spirited ride. The 5 Series GT actually gives the interior passenger room of a 7 Series, and has a large hatchback as well for my skiing and sailing gear (and those trips to the dump).  It doesn't handle as well as my wife's 3 series, but it is still a blast to drive for a large vehicle, and our friends really enjoy the cavernous back seating with individual climate controls and seat heaters.  Notwithstanding everyone else's opinion of the design, I like it, and I appreciate that BMW made one for me.
