Cadillac Reliability

You won't find Cadillac reliability information like this anywhere else. Actual repair frequencies, not just vague dots. So you can tell how much the Cadillac truly differs from competing car models in reliability.

These stats are promptly updated four times a year, to much more closely track Cadillac reliability as the cars age. Others tell you how reliable the Cadillac was a year ago, when the cars were a year younger and had 12,000 fewer miles on them. Only TrueDelta tells you how reliable the Cadillac has been recently.

No repairs or issues at all see full Cadillac review
2006 4dr Sedan 320-horsepower 4.6L V8
5-speed shiftable automatic RWD
The car has very few problems. The Northstar engine is built like a trouble-free tank. The few problems it may have in the future, all cars have them, so its not a deal maker or breaker. see full Cadillac review

2008 4dr SUV 308-horsepower 3.6L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic AWD
Consumer Reports indicates that reliability for this model is questionable. Afraid to take the plunge for more money and less features than the Lexus. see full Cadillac review
2007 4dr SUV 420-horsepower 6.2L V8
6-speed shiftable automatic 4WD w/low range
Many problems with the vehicle within ONLY THE FIRST YEAR OF OWNERSHIP. Front passenger side suspension failed twice, air leveling system has problems. Rough idling of engine. see full Cadillac review
2007 4dr SUV -horsepower
6-speed shiftable automatic AWD
Many problems reported in early models, especially with V6. see full Cadillac review

2007 4dr SUV -horsepower
6-speed shiftable automatic AWD
Hands down the reliability of the SRX is terrible. I've often wondered what I got myself into buying it. Parts are expensive and typical of GM, nearly impossible to replace yourself. Wheel bearing gone? Well you're replacing the enture hub, not just the bearing. see full Cadillac review
2007 4dr Sedan Too many trips to the dealer. Love the look and ride. Just wish it was put together better. For $62k, I expected a lot better. see full Cadillac review
2006 4dr Sedan 255-horsepower 3.6L V6
5-speed shiftable automatic RWD
Replaced water pump, rt front strut and upper strut mount at 24,000 miles. Car always idled rough. see full Cadillac review
2006 4dr Sedan 275-horsepower 4.6L V8

Northstar. Headgaskets may no longer be a problem but oil leaks can still occur. see full Cadillac review
2006 4dr Sedan 275-horsepower 4.6L V8
4-speed automatic FWD
Never again GM...NEVER! I've wasted more time and money at your clueless dealers service departments. Only one ever was knowledgable...North Bay Cadillac in Roslyn, New York. If going there, ask for Marino. The Northstar engine is a piece of junk. There are thousands of web pages killing it. How GM could continue to seel such a piece of crap is head-scratching. The engine is impossible to work on. To change a water pump takes 8 hours and costs almost $1500. Access is impossible. One caveat, parts do last. But when they go, forget about it...your child is going to community college instead of Harvard. You have to drop the engine and basically take most of it apart to replace the timing chains. How does $2300 sound to you? My engine just died. Gone! History! The car looks perfect inside and out. Yet I either had the choice to sell it for parts, or to a mechanic. Did the latter...for less than $2000. This is a vehicle that I paid over $45,000 for 7 years ago. GM will never get a nickel of my money every again. see full Cadillac review
