Screws keep falling out of the spoiler and the trim covering has started rattling now because it has been taken off many times. Whirring noise happening under load at low RPM. Dealer says no problem, could not reproduce but admitted to not driving it when it was cold.

1700 mi When the car was new, a soft pedal start was jerky. It was only smooth if I had a normal amount of pressure or floored it. They said the computer chip needed to learn my driving style. It did learn me perfectly in 6 weeks. Smooth now.
57700 mi Transmission shifts into neutral while driving on a flat road at moderate speed. Ford attempted power train computer reflash [failed] followed by replacing transmission control module [computer & actuators]

9920 mi Check engine light came on and brought to dealer because auto transmission was shifting rough. They had to do another reflash of the PCM with a newer update than the one they did in February. Passenger side backup light stopped working all of a sudden. Dealer fix and said there was a ground problem with the wiring in the passenger compartment. Chrome bezel on steering wheel was flaking off. Happened above the steering audio controls. I believe the valve stem or seating of the tire was the issue. The slow leak was very annoying, finally after a couple of weeks, the dealer took the tire off, replaced the valve stem & remounted tire
28700 mi DO NOT BUY A FORD FOCUS. TOO MANY PROBLEMS WITH THE "SYNC" ( I guess I should have known when the thing is powered by Microsoft). This is the worst vehicle that I have ever owned. It gets good gas milage, cheap to own, but poor quality
74000 mi Car stumbled and died in the drive thru line at Starbucks on the way to church on Sunday morning. WOULD NOT restart. Used the key in the slot and it still wouldn't start. Kept saying "Parking Assist needs Service". Very funny, i DON'T
78000 mi Ford Sync is the worst consumer software that I have EVER used. I should have been wary when I saw the "Powered by Microsoft" logo, but failed. Ford caused me to give the car to my daughter & to drop the brand, I just bought a new '15 Mini
78000 mi Returned to dealer AGAIN for transmission slipping issues while in Drive. NUMEROUS problems with this car. Dealer checked and then re-programmed the Transmission shift unit. Car likely to get new Transmission in next 6 months Said Dealer
1000 mi MyFord Touch update installation.
5000 mi Transmission software update.
6000 mi Vehicle stalled while driving and would not restart. Vehicle was towed to the dealer. Vehicle was out of fuel. Fuel gauge was showing nearly 1/4 tank when engine stalled. Dealer was unable to replicate problem; still not working. Passenger side windshield wiper became intermittently inoperable about a week after recall repair. Vehicle had been towed to dealer other than one that performed the recall work; stated they found tools from the other dealer under hood.
7500 mi Continuing problem with false readings from fuel gauge. Dealer checked gauge cluster and determined no problem. Dealer discovered fuel tank was warped, replaced the tank. Windshield wipers became misaligned. Driver's side wiper did not completely wipe its field of view, and the passenger side wiper was smacking into the moulding on the side of the windshield. Also, wipers were hitting each other on return. Continued false readings from fuel gauge. Dealer checked all systems and determined gauge was reading accurately. Car was returned with gauge reading approximately 1/2 tank. 2 days after car was returned with gauge indicating 1/2 full and assurances there was no problem, and having been driven about 60 miles, car stalled on a freeway in traffic. Ford roadside assistance delivered fuel. Started; driven to dealr Dealer determined car had defective gas tank purge valves, and replaced them on previous trip. Also determined that the fuel pump had been damaged and needed replacement. Part was on order, and required a separate visit to complete repair.
13000 mi "Focus" badge on rear hatch fell off. Replaced under warranty.
24000 mi Transmission Control Module had a short circuit, bad wiring - required replacement. Part # AE8Z7Z369F
4000 mi The PCM TCM ABS system needed to be reprogrammed. Sync system was malfunctioning and required update. Driver windshield wiper blade drags Proximity sensors are not calibrated correctly and do not warn driver of obstacle until 6" from obstacle. Prior to system updates, sensors would warn at approximately 2 to 3 feet prior depending on speed.
10000 mi Water stain on headliner where passenger-side front and rear door post meet the roof. Could not replicate leak, cleaned stain, though still visible.
20700 mi Attachment bracket on rear deck lid broke and had to be replaced.
28000 mi Car had bad wheel bearing on Drivers side rear wheel.
29000 mi Right rear wheel bearing was bad, had to replace.
42000 mi Clutch was shuddering (again!). The clutch had to be cleaned because a leak had developed. Then the oil leak had to be repaired. Ford cannot fix the transmission shuddering problem via programming or replacement parts. The flawed design causes premature wear and tear in the clutch assembly. This car will have to be repaired every year or two until it dies!
47700 mi Clutch assembly and bearings had to be replaced again to stop shuddering during gear changes.
51000 mi Had to yet again reprogram the transmission.
73000 mi Transmission has to replaced yet again for the shuddering problem and bad shifting between gears.

5000 mi Resonance problems in the exhaust that cannot be fixed. I'm very annoyed and not sure how I will proceed.
9500 mi Hopeless. Problems are mounting with this car and Ford has no intention of fixing any of it. I'm selling it and am done with Ford after driving only Fords for 16 years. There is an accessory noise that sounds like a clunking coffee can rolling around. Dealer says there's no fix of course. Something in the door is swinging around loose and knocking against the inside of the door and the door itself. Dealer of course refuses to fix. Clutch position sensor switch has malfunctioned causing the idle to hang even with the clutch in. Switch squeaked since new, then started popping and the idle started hanging. Dealer doesn't have a clue what they're doing and replaced the spring.
