Reviewed: 2007 Honda Civic

2dr Coupe 140-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed manual FWD

Why the 2007 Honda Civic?

Interior styling

It is nice, not utilitarian, and seems modern and is easy to decipher. Everything is laid out in front of you.

Powertrain performance

Smooth, almost buttery shifting with the manual transmission. Typical of honda gearboxes. Strong first and second gears.

Exterior styling

Sleek and sexy, the way a sporty coupe should be.

Feature availability

New features like Tire Pressure Monitoring System, thermometer gauge, sunroof.

Handling

Crisp and direct, sporty. No "slush-like" feeling in the steering.

Why Not the 2007 Honda Civic?

Ride smoothness

All bumps in the road are felt in the cabin, clutch is quite grabby and makes for a discomforting ride with an inexperienced driver.

Quietness

Engine is noisy no matter what rpm you are at. Slight growl at lower rpm and the sounds of the weak economy vtec fill the cabin from 6-7k rpm.

Cargo capacity

It has a good cargo capacity, but was not meant to tow anything whatsoever. It is underpowered for that purpose.

Audio & nav systems

No navigation system is offered, audio system could be a little clearer.
