I wouldn't buy it unless you know you'll be off-roading. On-road, most luxury SUVs are better performing than the new Discovery. My neighbor's 2004-05 LR3 (the old Discovery) is a money pit in repairs, but he keeps it because he loves it and has modified it as much as possible to survive the apocalypse. Gets 12 MPG because he added probably 1,500 lbs in modifications.
